We recognize the constant pressure faced by buyers in the automotive industry to reduce costs. As part of running a cost effective operation, Bowles has modernized and automated its manufacturing processes wherever possible. Our lights-out, 24-7 molding facility in Columbia, MD with mostly electric presses and robotics is world class for efficient operation. Our Mexico assembly plant handles over 80% finished goods through numerous semi-automatic assembly processes on a 3-shift-a-day, 7-day-a-week basis. This, in combination with a modern international distribution facility in Laredo, TX and streamlined transportation and logistics, ensures 100% on-time delivery performance at low cost. Our fully equipped, in-house mold shop allows us to build complex molds on an aggressive cost and delivery schedule. We are able to sample these molds in injection molding in real time, while tooling, project, R&D and process engineers troubleshoot and fine tune the molds and products under the same roof. Where it is warranted, we utilize low cost, Bowles-approved mold builders in China and Taiwan

As a major part of our lean manufacturing Bowles has implemented lean use of energy and has Energy Star rated manufacturing facilities. This ecological awareness is seen from our employee practices, the implementation of state-of-the-art building HVAC controls through to our use of recycled material where permissible.
