Quality Assurance

Bowles Fluidics Corporation’s commitment to quality starts with our quality policy:

We continually strive for excellence in everything we do to achieve total customer satisfaction, by providing superior products, innovative technology and unrivaled service.

We execute this vision by implementing a quality system that has been certified to ISO 9001 and QS 9000 since 1996 and most recently to automotive industry standard ISO/TS 16949.  Compliance to this main system as well as to specific OEM and industry environmental standards is assured by our Quality Systems department headed up by a V.P. level executive reporting directly to the CEO.

At the product level, all of our engineers have an implied dual title which includes “Quality Engineer”.  Our Project Engineers, in collaboration with their cross functional teams, develop all the critical quality documentation for each product and are responsible for generating the PPAP package.  We believe this non centralized approach embraces the Advanced Product Quality Planning methodology that most automotive OEM customers demand.

Ongoing quality assurance at Bowles is embodied by our strict adherence to the product control plan.  Our internal procedures require that all steps of the control plan be fully signed off as completed before parts are accepted into inventory on every production lot.

Internal non-conformances are handled real time through daily cross functional quality meetings.  This team is responsible for identifying quality issues and implementing permanent corrective actions.  The metrics of this activity are monitored by management to ensure a corporate level commitment to continuous improvement and defect prevention projects.

In the demanding automotive industry, zero defect manufacturing is the goal.  We continually work to error- and mistake-proof our product designs, production equipment, process flows and our quality systems to achieve this ideal.  However, when issues do arise, Bowles places the highest priority on quick resolution to the problem.  Every quality concern receives high level visibility throughout the organization.  We believe how well a company responds to problems is what sets the great firms apart from the good ones.
