PneuMassage® Seat Comfort Systems

The PneuMassage® air massage by Bowles Fluidics is a revolution in personal comfort systems. Using patented “air logic“ fluidic technology the system provides a gentle, soothing massage in a compact, cost-effective and reliable system that can be easily integrated into residential or automotive seating applications.

Solenoids, check valves, motors and complex electronic control circuitry all add significant cost and weight to conventional massage systems. Not so with PneuMassage® - which only requires a pump, air pillows and the unique fluidic logic chip. Simply switch the system on and the “no-moving-parts” fluidic automatically inflates then deflates pillows in the seat providing a soothing, therapeutic massage that’s preferred by 3 out of 4 people.

Already in use in both the residential and vehicle markets the system’s reliability, ease of integration, low cost and superior massage feel are proving to be an unbeatable combination for seat makers and vehicle OEMS.

PneuMassage® can be adapted to the specific needs of your seating product. Systems can be placed in the lumbar, upper back, neck, leg, calf or foot areas of the seat and can range from a basic two-pillow massage system to a luxurious fully-active sequential system featuring multiple massage locations, heat and intensity adjustments.

Our QS/ISO9000 approved headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, provides state-of-the-art production equipment, an on-site seat test facility and a certified materials lab. PneuMassage® systems can be integrated into candidate seat designs and optimized for comfort through a unique pressure mapping and analysis system. BFC is able to provide the in-depth engineering support demanded by its customers through a team of application engineers, designers and production specialists assigned to work closely with the customer throughout the product development cycle. With the latest CAD, FEA and Moldflow software and state-of-the-art rapid prototyping systems our engineers can quickly prove out designs and verify optimal performance in your specific seat application. Once in production, program needs are met through a three shift production process utilizing over 30 injection molding presses ranging in capacity from 28 to 330 tons and highly efficient multi-step assembly systems used to assemble and test the system at rates up to 5,000 per day.
